Studying the book of Daniel chapter 3
The king, Nebuchadnezzar erected a false god and instructed all to worship it.
Now 3 Hebrew boys refused to bow down to this image because it is a violation of God’s command given them in 10 commandments.
Now they aid something, that they know their God would deliver them but even if He doesn’t, they will not bow down to the king’s image, vr18
What touched me as I studied this book again is the fact that there were thrown into the furnace of fire:
1. The king commanded that the furnace be 7 times hotter than usual.
Lesson: At times things will get worse than usual, never mistake a worsened situation for lack of God’s presence or unanswered prayers.
Infact, the hotter the fire, the greater the glory.
The hotter the fire, the greater the marvel.
The hotter the fire, the greater His presence.
At times the fire needs to be hotter for God to show Himself faithful.
2. The flame that was increased 7 times didn’t burn the boy’s but it killed the men that threw them in.
Lesson 2 : God will turn around what was meant for evil for you.
Just like Joseph, the Bible says he told his siblings in Gen 50:20 “you meant it for evil but God meant it for good.”
Have you been stripped of your coat of many colors?
God meant if for good!!
Have you been stripped of your position?
God meant it for good.
Have you been dumped in the fire?
God meant it for good.
Have you been dumped in the pit?
God meant it for good.
Have you been sold out to strangers ?
God meant it for good.
Have you been imprisoned or falsely accused?
God meant it for good.
As I was typing , I heard the Holy Spirit say
“Count it all joy, my brothers,when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.” James 1:2-3
Lesson 3: What the enemy thought will harm you will be reversed to him. Saying “ back to sender.”
What the enemy thought will kill you will bounce back to him.
3. Now shortly after the boys were thrown into the fire, the king said, “did we not cast 3 in the fire ? I see four.” Now, not only did the king see four but the appearance of the fourth was the appearance of the Son of God.”
Lesson 5: No matter how hot the furnace is, the Lord is with you.
No matter how hard the situation is, you are guaranteed His presence.
See, God didn’t promise us a smooth Christian life, I am hearing this passage again:
“ When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” Isaiah 43:2
Now it means there will be some situations, circumstances, issues and conditions that seems like fire but be rest assured that you are not alone, the King of Kings is there with you and you will not be burned.
Those circumstances will not/ never take your life. When you turn to the right, you will see the Lord, when you turn to the left, you will see the Lord. When you look in front, the Lord is there, when you turn back, right behind you, you will find Him there.
4. Now, the appearance of the fourth caused the king to marvel.
Lesson 5: The appearance of God in your situation will shock many.
The appearance of God in your circumstance will cause many to marvel.
When God shows up for you, will cause many to leap in amazement. Trust me, God will show up when you least expect it.
5. Now in verse 23, they were thrown in bound and firmly tied to restrict their movement.
Lesson 6: The enemy threw you in the fire thinking that your movement will be limited, thinking that you will be incapacitated, thinking that you will be at a standstill, thinking that you will be stationary but hey the apprearance of the Son of God delivered them, set them free, that even though, they are in this fire, this seemingly unmovable situation, He will still cause them to move. No matter how much the enemy tries to stop you, you will still move, you will not be bound and you will not be stopped.
Lesson 7 See, Joseph in all of the fire he went through never stopped moving. In Potiphar’s house, he was favoured, in the prison, he was loved.
Amidst all that you are going through, know that you are still loved, know that you are not bound, know that He whom the Son of God sets free, he is free indeed.
Know that no power, no situation, no circumstance is big enough to tie you down because He is with you.
