Taking a look at the narrative of Joseph in the bible in the book of Genesis 39, after he was accused falsely by Potiphar’s wife and thrown into the prison ( prison is the worst state anyone can be). Potiphar never for once remembered the way Joseph had dealt faithfully with him in the past, never even gave him room to speak to the accusation.
While in the prison, he never wallowed in self pity, he never stopped doing good and being a blessing. Infact it was recorded that the hand of God was upon him and everything he did prospered.
Joseph, even in prison never overlooked the suffering of others, he was of good countenance and ever willing to help. Always encouraging others in the prison and because of this character, God positioned him to meet butler and baker.
By using his gift for these two, God opened a door of greatness for him into the palace.
Now listen:
Are you accused falsely? Don’t give in.
Are people not giving you a chance to speak to a situation?
Let it go!
Are people slandering you?
Don’t change.
Are you misjudged?
Keep up your good work still!
Are you unrecognized for the help you have rendered in the past?
Don’t stop helping.
DO NOT CHANGE WHO YOU ARE BECAUSE OF OTHERS.
DO NOT STOP DOING GOOD BECAUSE OF LACK OF APPRECIATION OF SOME PEOPLE.
You never know the good that you will do that will open doors for you.
Gal 6:9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
