It very sad that I heard this statement from a man of God that I respect a lot:
“ more than half of youths who are incarcerated are those raised raised by single mothers.”
Now these things we say as a church, as a society has become a self fulfilling prophecy to some of these children.
Unfortunately most of children I have dealt with and still dealing with are not even children from single parents: children from both parent homes on drugs, wanting to commit suicide, hitting their parents and walking away from home, children with maladaptive behaviours, even calling their parents names etc.
I get calls to pray and speak to children and mostly from both parents homes.
When we as a church stigmatize these kids and the society does the same, where then is the SAFE HAVEN for them????
We can do better than this.
“Do not let anyone define you or tell you how far you can go!!
My friend and I got into this very interesting conversation about how people think they have the authority to tell you how far you can go in life. It is so interesting how human beings now think they can dictate to you what to do and what not to do because they are aware of what is going on in your life. Listen, your experience in life does not determine the areas you can function OR BE A BLESSING.
My advice to everyone going through any storm whatsoever is NEVER ALLOW ANYONE DEFINE YOU BY YOUR STORM. YOUR STORM IS NOT YOU, IT IS JUST A PHASE-IN YOUR LIFE, AND IT WILL END.
QUIT PLAYING THE ROLE OF A VICTIM, PLAY THE ROLE OF A VICTOR.
RISE UP IN CONFIDENCE
NEVER ALLOW ANYONE UNDERESTIMATE YOUR ABILITY OR CAPABILITIES.
NEVER GIVE ROOM TO THOSE WHO DO NOT BELIEVE IN YOU
IF IS POSSIBLE, DISTANCE YOURSELF COMPLETELY FROM THEM OTHERWISE YOU WILL NOT GROW.
RISE UP WITH THE STRENGTH OF THE ALMIGHTY
GO IN THAT STRENGTH AND YOU WILL SEE GOD DO WONDERS
