Since I started my course the Holy Spirit has been nudging it in my heart to be a blessing in the midst of my storm. The story of the wounded healer was discussed this week. No matter how wounded a soilder is, he never stops fighting.
Today I will discuss our mental health. The Lord placed a vision in my heart sometimes this year and He named it Faith Health Connect ( FHC). Our faith and health are closely related as Christians ( either psychologically, phylosophically and biblically). It has been discovered that If we truly know and understand that God’s word has every solution for all our health issues, we will be able to maintain stable health physically, psychologically, emotionally and spiritually in the days of adversity.
Several years ago in my journey, I have discovered there were seasons that I felt like throwing in the towel. Infact there was a time that I was almost sliding away.
The story of Joseph was what came to me at that time. I began to a look at that story again. God had given Joseph two powerful dreams of his family bowing to him.
I am sure he must have expected his life to be straight forward and rosy.
But atlas, there were detours.
Joseph could have been depressed when instead of his dreams coming to pass, things were going in the opposite direction.
Joseph could have attemptted suicide when it seemed like he would be a slave for life in Potiphar’s house.
Joseph could have felt neglected by God when Potiphar’s wife lied against him.
Joseph could have felt his dream was never coming to pass when he was thrown into the prison.
But no, in all his journey to the palace he was always a blessing ( talk about a wounded healer).
We see him as a young man who was always full of joy and favor even in the baddest ( permit me to use this word) places.
Joseph was never recorded to have said anything negative but in all he walked with God and resisted sin.
Today, I pray for strength for you to go on, I pray for strength for you to be encouraged. I pray for strength for you never to give up. I pray that you will always be filled with joy( from the Holy Spirit).I pray for strength for you to be focused. I pray for strength for you to hold unto God and His word.
I pray that you will continue to be a blessing even in your wounded state. If Joseph had stopped to be a blessing in his prison, how on earth could he have taken notice of the butler and the baker’s countenance? How on earth could he have been able to give interpretation to their dreams? How on earth could butler have remembered him and mentioned him to Pharaoh? How on earth would have have risen from the PRISON TO HIS PALACE if he chose to always lament his present state and never cared about others?
Phil 4:11-13. You can do all things through Christ who strenthens you.
I pray that today, we will all walk in God’s strength that is available for us now and always.
