God gave Joseph two dreams of greatness at the age of 17 in Gen. 37, he shared it with his parents and brothers . The brothers who had issues with the way Joseph was “ tattletaling” and him telling them that he would rule over them was the height of his insubordination and rudeness. So they planned to rob him of his coat of many colors given to him by his father. Not only that , to also throw him into the pit ( after all how can his dreams come to pass in the pit).
They never realized that trees develop their roots in dark places. Treasures are hidden in dark places Isaiah 43:5. In dark places, your foundation is secured and sure.
One thing the brothers never realized ( I believe God hid that piece of information from them ) was that Joseph needed the pit for his dreams to come to pass. They never realized that the pit was actually part of God’s plan anyway. They never realized that their plan was getting Joseph close to God’s plan.
Listen to me, people may think that’s they have robbed you of your coat of many colours but they did not realize that what you carry is greater than the coat of many colours .
They could take his coat of many colours but they couldn’t take his dream.
They never realized that what is inside of you is greater than what they see outside of you.
They never realized that the pit was necessary for the fulfillment of God’s original Plan for you.
The pit couldn’t break Joseph
Potiphar’s house couldn’t stop him
The prison couldn’t hold him
Until he got to the palace.
Listen to me; when next you are faced with betrayals
When next you are lied against
Rejoice because you are closer to the palace than you ever thought.
You see, what is inside of you is too great to be wasted in the wrong places, it’s too powerful to be given to those who don’t need it
It’s so unique that the ordinary people cannot comprehend it.
LET THEM TAKE THE COAT BECAUSE THE COAT DOES NOT DEFINE YOU ANYWAY!!
